Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Corryong Exploration

Guests will meet at either the Albury Swim Centre Car Park (441 Wodonga Place, Albury, NSW) or Albury Airport for those arriving by air. Bikes will be loaded onto our bike trailer, and luggage onto the bus.

The group will then follow the bus to Albury Airport Secure Parking, unless you have flown in. Secure vehicle storage is provided at Albury Airport for who require it (approx. $115 per vehicle for the duration of the tour). From there, guests will board the minibus for the two-hour transfer to Corryong, our tour base.

We’ll check into our accommodation after arrival. For those who require a bike (E-Bikes also available) then hire is available at Hobies Sports Store (36A Hansen St, Corryong). Owners Mick and Kerrie Butler will provide well-suited e-bikes. Cost: $49/day.

In the afternoon, guests will explore Corryong via a short ride along the 6km bike path to Colac Colac, returning via the same route. The evening concludes with dinner at Corryong Hotel Motel, known for its excellent pub cuisine.

Day 2: Biggara Valley (65km Ride)

After breakfast at a local cafe, bikes will be loaded onto the trailer, and the group will drive 9km to Patrick’s Lookout to begin the ride.

Key Route Highlights:

  • A 2.6km descent from Patrick’s lookout, before beginning our ride into Biggara Valley.

  • 11.5km to Indi Bridge Reserve (toilets available).

  • A loop ride upriver, crossing another bridge before returning to Indi Bridge Reserve (16.5km).

  • A picnic lunch at the reserve.

  • Continuing back to the Murray Valley Highway, then turning onto the Alpine Way, Tooma Road and Towong Road and eventually into Towong after crossing the Murray River Bridge (28km).

  • The final part of the trip is from Towong back to Corryong (12km).

The evening is free for guests to explore and dine at their leisure.

Day 3: Thowgla Valley (63km Ride)

Following breakfast in Corryong the day begins with a departure from within Corryong.

Key Route Highlights:

  • 12km ride along Thowgla road to visit historic Thowgla Hall.

  • Continue along Thowgla Road riding alongside Thowgla Creek eventually arriving at Grey’s Track Campground (toilets available) for morning tea (10km).

  • Return ride along Thowgla Road to Nariel Gap Road (4km).

  • 6km shuttle transfer via gravel road to Benambra-Corryong Road.

  • Unload the bikes and begin riding back toward Corryong along the Benambra-Corryong Road (17km).

  • Follow the Back Cudgewa Road ready for lunch in Cudgewa.

  • Continue our journey with a climb up Briggs Gap Road for spectacular views (4km).

  • Return ride to Corryong for afternoon refreshments (10km).

Evening free for dining and relaxation.

Day 4: Tumbarumba Rosewood Rail Trail (45km Ride)

After breakfast, the group will travel by bus to visit the following:

  • Southern Cloud Memorial Lookout

  • Paddy’s River Falls (optional walk to the base).

  • Tumbarumba for a bakery snack.

  • Cycling commences along the Tumbarumba Rosewood Rail Trail (21km)

  • At the end of the rail trail we’ll board the bus again and transfer to Courabyra Winery for lunch.

  • After lunch we transfer to Tintaldra, nestled along the Murray River.

  • Cycle along the Murray River Road to visit Farran’s Lookout (7km). The lookout provides a grand view of some of the most productive pastoral land in Australia.

  • Continue riding through Towong and the eventually back to Corryong (16 km)

Evening free for dining and relaxation.

Day 5: High Country Rail Trail (75km Ride)

Breakfast in Corryong, followed by luggage and bike loading for transfer to Shelley Station - Australia’s highest former railway station (779m).

Key Route Highlights:

  • Follow the High Country Rail Trail from Shelley Station to Bullioh, taking in the scenic valley views and timber trestle bridges along the trail. This portion of the trail is all downhill (27 km)

  • Stop at Bullioh for morning tea.

  • Continue our ride along the High Country Rail Trail through to Tallangatta for lunch at a local cafe (21 km).

  • After lunch, ride to the Sandy Creek Bridge. A wonderful bit of engineering and very charming when the Lake Hume water levels are high. Great for a photo (6 km)

  • Continue along the High-Country Rail Trail, our final destination - Bonegilla.

This sadly concludes our tour. Return transport to Albury (cars/airport) provided.

What's Included

  • Four nights’ accommodation at the Corryong Country Inn.

  • $1,955 per person twin share basis inclusive; single supplement an extra $300.

  • All day bus support while you ride. The bus is there for rider respite. You are free to cycle all of the tour, or only parts of the day’s cycling route.

  • On days 2,3,4 and 5 we will provide a full breakfast at a local cafe, morning tea, lunch (picnic style or at a quality restaurant), afternoon tea and coffee and tasty treats along the way.

  • A team dinner is included on our first night together at a local restaurant.

  • Free-of-charge snack bars, fruit, hydrolyte tablets, magnesium tablets, salt tablets during the tour.

  • Sunscreen, water, spare bike tubes & first aid supplies.

  • We will carry all your extra apparel so you can ride as lightly as possible.

  • Spare E-Bikes in case your bike breaks down.

What's Not Included

  • Evening meals on day two, three and four.

  • EBike Hire (Available from $68 per day). Hire organised from Hobies Sports Store, Corryong.

  • Alcoholic beverages.
